Birmingham
City University is the largest provider of Initial Teacher Training for
Primary and Early Years teachers in the West Midlands. Currently
we train over 1500 students per year and have approximately 800 schools
in our Partnership. We are very pleased to be able to work with
schools from all over the West Midlands and beyond including: Coventry,
Derby City, Derbyshire, Herefordshire, Leicester City, Leicestershire,
Nottinghamshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Telford and Wrekin,
Worcestershire and Warwickshire. This
enables our trainees and students to experience a wide range of
settings, working with children from diverse backgrounds.
Primary and Early Years trainees spend between eighteen and thirty two weeks in schools, depending on their course. The experiences that they have in school form a significant part of their training and we value the expertise and support of our school based colleagues.
